The Joni Mitchell Situation (featuring Kate Foley-Beining: vocals/piano/dulcimer/guitar, Christian Foley-Beining: guitar, Tom Hiyashi: drums, and myself) will play the music of Joni Mitchell at the Northwest Santa Rosa Library (150 Coddingtown Center, (707) 546-2265) on November 18th from 2 to 3. An excellent band, great music… if you like Joni at all you’ll want to give us a listen.

BoHo Manor is located on  the Russian River at 20822 River Blvd., in Monte Rio (707) 865-2304. It is a rustic country inn where Bing Crosby debuted “White Christmas” in the 1942 film “Holiday Inn”. Fine dinging upstairs and a “speak easy” style bar downstair where you can catch me with The Greg Hester Trio featuring Greg on keys and Christian Foley-Beining on guitar. The band plays beautiful and obscure Be Bop and Latin tunes, and is really, really fun! Come see what’s in our bag of tricks!

Brulée: vocal diva Julie Crystal, pianist/vocalist/composer Doug Onstad, and myself will perform twice in December. We will do a house concert on the 3rd in Santa Rosa and will return to the Main Street Bistro (16280 Main St., Guerneville,Ca. (707) 869-0501) on the 22nd.

If you are interested in attending the house concert please contact John Roy Zac [email protected]

Main Street features live jazz nightly. The food is excellent and the ambience very comfortable. Julie and Doug bring a unique and captivating twist to every tune they perform. Not to be missed!

Trimates (John Simon, keys/vocals; Kendrick Freeman, drums/vocals; and me on acoustic bass/vocals) play contemporary jazz, standards, and original material featuring instrumental virtuosity and 3 part harmony vocals. (I absolutely love this band!) Two days before Christmas we will be at Furthermore Winery’s tasting room in Healdsburg (328 A Healdsburg Ave., 707-395-0374) 5 to 8. –

On the 12th of January we will be at a sit down concert at the Music To My Ears Theatre, 104 N Main St., Sebastopol 707-664-0123 starting at 7:30. This is our first concert performance and I’m very excited to present our music in a true listening environment.

The McCandless Foley-Beining Collaboration features original compositions by local guitarist Christian Foley- Beining and Grammy winning reed man Paul McCandless. Drummer Tom Hayashi and I round out the quartet. In February we will perform at The Occidental Center For The Arts (3850 Doris Murphy Ct., (707) 874-9392). This band is BIG FUN!!
